“How Not To Summon a Demon Lord” anime review. So right off the bat, I was both confused, excited and impressed with the story unfolding in front of me. We see an average salaryman who is meeting with his Kohai, who is trying to impress his senpai with his hot young thing of a wife. Out of fucking nowhere, a man is charging down the street with a knife-like he is going to shove a spear into a hog. Why is this guy doing that no fucking clue? And our boy decides to jump in front of his kohai to save his life. Respectable. 

The next thing we see is him losing his life and pleading with his friend to delete his hard drive, to plunge it into the water and he is very adamant about this. Being a virgin our boy is most likely into some savage hentai. I cannot comment. The interesting thing is as he is dying he is talking to some worldly being and describing his feeling. These thoughts and emotions are directing this being to add skills and abilities to the protagonist for his future reincarnation. Tada! He is a slime, the weakest monster in every RPG game Japan every produces. 

This is the start of our main storyline. If you enjoy a cliche story about developing  fantasy world and an underdog character surpassing all odds and reigning supreme, then “That time I was reincarnated as a slime” is your cup of tea. We meet a slew of wacky characters, some unique villains and follow a pretty typical isekai storyline, but one that offers surprises as well. If you didn’t catch this show from last year’s shows you can’t wait any longer.
